Seniors in Action


The Montgomery Village Foundation offers a full roster of Monday through Friday activities at Stedwick Community Center, 10401 Stedwick Road, for those 55 and older.

Interested in helping us plan future activities and widen our membership? Seniors in Action members take an active role in activity planning by working with MVF Recreation Specialist Alex Alcon, who directs the seniors program. New members are welcome to join our outreach and planning team.

Weekly Activities


  • Book Discussion Group - 10 to 11 a.m. 
    Third Monday of each month 
  • Arts & Crafts - 10 a.m. to noon
    Work side-by-side with other member while you explore your creative side
  • Pickleball - 10 noon
    Join Pickleball enthusiasts for fun on the court playing this sport that combines tennis, badminton and ping-pong! Limited equipment available for use.


  • Light Cardio Workout - 9 to 10 a.m. 
    Work out with exercise videos, light resistance bands and weights 
  • Seated Tai Chi  - Noon to 12:50 p.m.
    Join instructor Marcy as she takes you through the controlled and low impact movements of Tai Chi.


  • SIA Games/Social Hour - 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    Enjoy a variety of card and board games, conversation and refreshments. Monthly potluck luncheon with guest speaker on the last Wednesday of the month.

  • SiA Games / Social Hour Take 2 - 10:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    Games, socializing and table tennis with your friends.

Fitness Opportunities

Light Cardio Workout
Step by step you can get in shape with Seniors in Action! Light Cardio Workout on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. Members will work out with exercise videos, light resistance bands and weights, led by exercise enthusiasts and staff. Don’t hesitate to walk yourself to health.

Seated Tai Chi
Experienced instructor Marcy will lead you through the movements of Tai Chi to work on balance and muscle control. Tai Chi is scheduled from Noon to 12:50 p.m. on Tuesdays.


All Seniors in Action activities take place at Stedwick Community Center, 10401 Stedwick Road, unless otherwise noted.

From Montgomery Village Avenue, make either a right or left (depending on direction travelling) onto Stedwick Road. Cross over Watkins Mill Road. Stedwick Community Center is on the right, past the Montgomery Village Middle School athletic fields.
